Every year on June 5th, World Environment Day unites millions worldwide to spotlight pressing environmental challenges and drive collective action. In 2025, the focus is on ending plastic pollution, a threat impacting ecosystems, human health, and climate stability. Hosted by the Republic of Korea, this year's campaign underlines the urgency of adopting sustainable practices to combat plastic waste and protect our planet's future.
General Assembly
a better, fairer, more sustainable world through business
Our commitment to sustainability was exemplified during the UN Global Compact Network Netherlands' General Assembly on June 3rd in Amsterdam. Our R&D Manager, Stefaan Vanhalle, contributed to the "Beyond Buzzwords" breakout session, sharing insights on how companies can transition sustainability from mere ambition to tangible action. Stefaan emphasized the importance of integrating sustainable practices into core business strategies, fostering a culture where environmental responsibility is a shared value and daily practice.
Sustainability at our core
Our dedication to positive environmental impact is further reflected in our ongoing initiatives. Through the STAXS® Pink Planet programme, we actively pursue greener solutions to minimize waste and extend the lifecycle of our products. One such initiative is the Second Life Programme, which repurposes used cleanroom consumables, reducing environmental impact and promoting resource efficiency.
Additionally, CWS Cleanrooms reinforces our shared commitment to sustainable practices. By utilizing reusable cleanroom textiles within a circular business model, CO₂ emissions are reduced and resources are conserved. This exemplifies how aligning operational processes with environmental goals can lead to meaningful change.
As we join World Environment Day 2025, we reaffirm our promise to integrate sustainability into every facet of our operations. By transforming ambition into action, we aim to contribute to a healthier planet and inspire others to join us in this essential endeavor.
Tomorrow always starts today.
