In the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries, maintaining cleanroom contamination control is non-negotiable. The key to achieving this? A robust and validated disinfection process that’s backed by real-world data.
At STAXS®, we know that confidence in your contamination control strategy starts with evidence. That’s why, in collaboration with Ecolab, we conducted an in-depth study designed to support the validation of disinfectants used in controlled environments.
According to Annex 1, the disinfection process must be validated in the specific way it is used: on the surfaces it’s used on, and with the tools (like wipes and mops) it’s applied with. Traditional testing, while valuable, may not fully reflect real-world cleanroom disinfection practices.
Our joint study takes it a step further! Using a modified 4-Field test methodology, our research incorporates mechanical wiping action, as it is actually used in cleanrooms, on relevant surfaces. We also included real cleanroom organisms, ensuring the results are both practical and applicable.
The goal of this study is to offer a practical and scientifically sound tool to help cleanroom operators and validation teams select and qualify disinfectants that work on the surfaces and under the conditions they’re actually used. Let’s ensure your cleanroom operates both effectively and compliantly: every single day.
